redistribution, mutual aid, and reparations

The Lady Ms Vagina Jenkins asked patrons to share the importance of mutual aid and reparations (or micro-reparations) with our communities.
For me, this means redistributing money without conditions. Over the years that’s looked like $50 a month to a Black trans friend on social security, $5 a month to an all-volunteer QTPOC group, $36 a month to a Native-led nonprofit, contributing to GoFundMes whenever I can, etc.
As a freelancer, my cashflow is often unpredictable, but for the past two years I have successfully redistributed 10% of my income. If I can do it, I hope it inspires others. Maybe this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for to participate in mutual aid and/or reparations!
